Profectus Application Solutions is a software startup in Rochester, NY. Brian brings the vision and models, Steve brings the engineering and compliance that makes it work. These products are what happens when building tools is their life's work.

Founder & CEO
CTE Machining Instructor, Eastern Monroe Career Center
Brian built the first version of Profectus for his own classroom, because his district moved to standards-based grading and the gradebook it had been promised never arrived. He still teaches full time, which means every design decision in the product gets tested against a real classroom before anyone else sees it.
Co-Founder & CTO
Software Engineer
Steve has been the primary software engineer on the Profectus codebase since May 2026. He specializes in data security and compliance, which is also his largest body of work on the platform: the control inventory, the NY Ed Law 2-d citation set, and the access recertification records that the privacy posture rests on.
